There is something inherently appealing about a classic design that has been given an arty makeover, which is why the Superstar Labubu Mickey Mouse is so fun. Appearing as one example of a three-sneaker collection designed by Hong Kong-born artist Kasing Lung, the Mickey Mouse edition combines the much-loved Disney character with Lung’s own sharp-toothed creation. This is apparent in such details as the phrase ‘Fangtastic Science Experiment’ that is scribbled on the midsole and the appearance of Mickey with fanged teeth beside adidas’ three pillars. The colourway is mostly white, with sci-fi-inspired artwork by Lung spread across the heel, midsole, and sole. These include cartoon planets, clocks, and the words ‘Mickey!!!” on the rear three quarters. A traditional adidas logo appears on the heel.
