Contrasting subdued tones with pops of Volt throughout the upper and the foam midsole, unveiled initially as part of a partnership between Jun Takahashi’s UNDERCOVER imprint, the futuristic React Element 87 Desert Sand was non-collaboratively released by Nike in August 2018. This futuristic silhouette is tempered by familiar elements, borrowed from 2017's Zoom Fly SP and inspiration lifted from the OG Nike Internationalist Runner. The crep’s main details arrive via its low slung Swoosh that dives right into the midsole, exterior taping on the heel, and a wavy, trail-style lacing system constructed of leather and suede that boasts reflective accents.
